Paris

Technical day organised by AFICEP

Energy is a major strategic issue at the heart of environmental, industrial, and societal transitions. The European Union aims to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050, even though energy demand will continue to grow as a result of the digital transition, electric mobility, and sustainable industrialization.

The gradual phase-out of fossil fuels and the development of a « Smart Energy Mix » will profoundly transform value chains: the revival of nuclear and hydroelectric power, the expansion of renewable energies, the challenges of electricity storage, the evolution of networks and infrastructure, the potential rise of hydrogen, the energy recovery of bio-based resources, etc.

In this context, elastomers play essential and often critical roles. They provide multiple key functionalities: sealing, thermal and electrical insulation, system protection, storage, vibration and acoustic damping, ensuring the safety and durability of installations, etc.

These materials are exposed to particularly demanding environments: extreme temperatures or sunlight, marine and underwater conditions, chemical or nuclear atmospheres, high mechanical pressures or intensive cycling, etc.

What innovations in materials, formulation, products, design, and manufacturing processes will enable elastomers to sustainably meet these new energy challenges? What feedback, technological barriers, scientific advances, or industrial breakthroughs can be shared?

If you work in the energy sector as a designer or manufacturer of parts and functions, a contractor, material or industrial equipment supplier, a solution provider, or a researcher or innovator, come and share your experience!

This technical seminar is realized with the support of POLYMERIS.
